Sometimes you just need some milk on the fly. You don’t need it to be fancy or flavorful, you just need some plant based milk! This easy two ingredient oat milk recipe has you covered.
What do I need for two ingredient oat milk?
To make this super simple, easy oat milk recipe, you will need raw rolled oats and filtered water. That’s it! As far as kitchen tools go, a blender, measuring cups and a fine mesh sifter are helpful to have on hand. Minimally speaking, only a blender and measuring cups are absolutely necessary. 🙂
Is it easy to make oat milk?
Yes! You literally cannot mess up this oat milk recipe, I promise. Simply throw the raw rolled oats in the blender with water and blend. Sift the oat milk using a fine mesh strainer to create a smooth texture. Depending on your intended use of this easy oat milk recipe, sifting may not be entirely necessary. Unsifted oat milk has a grainy texture which is perfectly fine in smoothies or baking.
What can I use this oat milk for?
Two ingredient oat milk has a variety of uses:
Pour oat milk over cereal or granola
Oat milk can be used in baking recipes
Heated with raw oats to make hot oatmeal
As a liquid base in smoothies
Mix with chia seeds for chia pudding
Homemade plant based coffee creamer
Oat milk pancakes
How long does homemade oat milk stay fresh in the fridge?
This easy oat milk recipe stays fresh for up to 48 hours in the refrigerator. Natural separation will occur over time, as the milk sits. You can recombine the oats and water by shaking vigorously for about 10-20 seconds. I like to store my oat milk in mason jars with reusable lids.
