Spoiler alert! We found Arlo Midtown NYC to be one of the best hotels near Peloton Studios. Keep reading to find out what we loved about Arlo, and save a significant amount on your next booking at any Arlo hotel in the United States.
Arlo Midtown NYC is a four star boutique hotel nestled on the edge of Midtown in New York City. Just a short walk to Hudson Yards and Hells Kitchen in the Garment District. Arlo is a great option if you happen to be visiting Peloton Studios! It is one of the few hotels nearby, only a 10-12 minute walk to the studio. Arlo Midtown NYC is situated in a safe area, we easily walked around at night. The hotel is great for solo travelers, couples, and is also kid friendly.

If you stay, come back and let me know your thoughts!
In preparation for our stay, I surveyed fellow Peloton members on the best hotel near Peloton Studios. Arlo was recommended more than once! Naturally we had to check it out, so we stayed at Arlo Midtown in New York City, and here’s what we thought.
Let’s talk about the rooms at Arlo Midtown NYC
The rooms at Arlo Midtown NYC are very clean. Cleanliness is obviously an important factor when deciding on which hotel to stay in, anywhere you go. Without fail, my sister checks for bed bugs upon entry to every hotel she ever stays at, including Arlo. You’ll love to know that the mattresses look to be in pristine condition, not a spot in sight.
We were greeted with cute fortune cookies and a card that read, “A Moment of Fortune. Time for a sweet pause in your day? We hope you enjoy the fortune cookies and the positive vibes they bring for your stay at Arlo and beyond. Thanks for staying with us. Xoxo, Arlo Midtown.” My fortune read, “Tomorrow can wait. Tune into today. This minute. This second. Right now. xoxo, Arlo”.

The in-room toiletries at Arlo Midtown NYC are organic! I am one who tries to purchase all natural and/or organic for just about everything from body care to fruits and vegetables. I make a special trip to Whole Foods before traveling to make sure that I have natural shampoo, conditioner, soap, ect. Not only are the products organic, but they smell and feel amazing. Which reminds me to head over to Amazon to purchase the body lotion, brb.
You can find their products here. In my quest to purchase Pharmacopia’s lotion, I’m seeing that they also use 100% recycled materials for their packaging. So, if you’re anything like me, you can skip the extra grocery run and save that $10-15 for your morning coffee. It’s a win/win.

A wide range of amenities at Arlo Midtown NYC
Coffee
Speaking of coffee, there is a coffee shop in the lobby. Need I say more? The menu is basic, however they have both drip coffee and espresso, with plenty of regular milk and plant milk options available. The coffee shop at Arlo Midtown NYC also has assorted pastries, snacks, candy, and refrigerated items. Pro tip: to the right of the barista, there is a drinking water faucet and water cups along the side wall there. It is a great spot to refill your water bottle when you are coming and going through the hotel lobby.
On site restaurant
Arlo Midtown NYC features an on site restaurant which serves both breakfast and dinner. We did not step inside, however I did order dessert, (a chocolate cake and a ginger turmeric tea). The host stand even offered to send it up to my room, which was a huge plus! The dessert looked artful and tasted like it was straight out of Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen.
Sofar sounds venue
Arlo is a host of Sofar Sounds in NYC. Sofar Sounds connects artists and listeners through live performances. Exact show locations are concealed until approximately 36 hours prior to each show. Artists remain completely unannounced until the actual time of the event. Each show has three acts which range from live music to comedy, and even spoken word. There was a performance at Arlo during our stay, however we were unable to attend between later Peloton classes and dinner that evening. During a prior stay, I booked a Sofar Sounds show, however it was rained out (not at Arlo Midtown). Sofar communicated the cancellation with plenty of advance notice, and also provided refunds.
The lobby at Arlo Midtown is a vibe
The hotel lobby sitting areas are a vibe. The lobby is adorned with several separate sitting areas, almost like mini living rooms around the first floor of the hotel. One of the sitting areas even features a fireplace! If you have some extra time, or find yourself in NYC on a rainy day, grab a book and get comfortable.
Elevators
Elevators on an amenity list? Stay with me here! These aren’t just any elevators. The elevators at Arlo Midtown are SMART elevators. Maybe I’ve been living under a rock, but I’ve literally never seen or heard of a smart elevator until I stepped inside of this hotel. In addition, we never had to wait in line for our elevator to arrive, whether coming or going. The elevators at Arlo Midtown are controlled by a room key reader. When you wave your room key in front of the control panel, an elevator is called for you. Once it arrives, the elevator automatically takes you to the correct floor. That’s right. No button pushing necessary. 🤯
Navigating New York City from Arlo Midtown
Arlo Midtown NYC is situated within walking distance to so many amazing restaurants and activities. During our stay, we walked to Peloton Studios on multiple occasions, as well as Whole Foods. I visited Suzy Qi Acupuncture using my Class Pass membership. We walked through Times Square, to MOMA, and even Lyric theatre. At Lyric Theatre we saw Harry Potter on Broadway — 10/10 highly recommend and am already planning a trip back to bring my kids. For eats, we walked to Capizzi Pizzeria, Hey Yuet (the most amazing dim sum), Patiala Indian Grill, and Fresh From Hell. Fresh From Hell has made to order smoothies, juice, and acai bowls. I make a point to go to Fresh From Hell every time I visit NYC, and I was more than pleased to learn that they deliver. We walked in one day, and had our acai bowls delivered to Arlo Midtown.
Convenient transportation options
Convenient transportation is necessary if you plan on venturing far in NYC. While Arlo Midtown is within walking distance to so many restaurants and activities, public transportation also seems to be readily available in the area. One morning we walked outside and a yellow cab was already available and waiting near our front door. You’ll find that yellow cabs are often much more reasonably priced than Lyft or Uber, especially during surge pricing times.
Hotel services + friendly staff
The staff is welcoming and friendly. Upon our return into the hotel multiple times per day, we were greeted with a warm smile and a ‘welcome back’.
Complimentary early check-in + late checkout
If your room is available, you will be offered a complimentary early check-in and/or a late checkout. We took advantage of a late checkout on our departure date and enjoyed the room until 1 p.m. The hotel already has a naturally late checkout time of 12 p.m. which is an added bonus.
Luggage check
If you find yourself with time between check-in or departure, Arlo will hold your luggage! Arlo has a designated luggage room for safekeeping guests’ luggage. There is an attendant who readily stands by to check your luggage. If you take advantage of this service, they will tag your luggage and hand you a numbered ticket, just like when you check a bag at the airport. We were able to check out of our room, check our luggage in with the front desk, and head out to a movie and lunch completely handsfree. When we were finished, we returned to the hotel, presented our ticket and our bags were returned promptly.
In conclusion
Some people might consider the smaller room size to be a downside of staying at Arlo Midtown NYC, however for us it was just right. Unless you plan to stay in your room for an extended period of time, there really is no need to have a large room. For us, exploring NYC is the goal and therefore we spent a lot of time out and about. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Arlo and 10/10 will be back. In fact, I’ve already booked my next stay. 🙂
